The "Escapement" phase of WOSTEP's refresher course is coming to a close. The exam has been postponed until tomorrow as Mr. Madden is under the weather. Mr. Madden is the 28-yr-old Major Professor for this year's class. He is from the Land Down Under and does not have immunities to the Suisse critters. Madame Simonin has moved him into her home until he recovers...she is a chubby lady with a big kitchen so he'll definitely get some good soup there. Well, she's really the Dining Room Nazi, but soup is soup when you're sick. She will likely take good care of him.

And let us hope he is back tomorrow b/c Escapements are Kent's strongest areas!

Kent describes recent technical difficulties with both shellack (spelling?) and a heater. Both were resolved yesterday. I understand from other students that he could easily return his work for approval much sooner, but he is such a perfectionist that he is consistently the "last man standing". Nevertheless he does not sacrifice accuracy for speed, so go Kent. Take your "time". ...(laughter)

A new class has begun in "Turning". This class meets below the Refresher Course, which is housed on the top floor. The Turning students wear Blue jackets in contrast to the White Dr. coats Kent's class wears. One of the students is from Cambra, Australia. Roger Little brought his wife with him and they live in Msr. Duport's house with Kent---different apartment, but same house. So two wives frequent the dining room now. Mrs. Little teaches online for a University. She brought her work with her in the form of a laptop.

The climate continues in the Alpine tradition. Lots of snow and clouds. Tall windows have been added on each classroom for maximum light. The school is quite distinctive with these windows as the other homes and buildings have small windows and shutters. Kent rides his bike 50% and drives 50%. Bike riding will become more frequent as Spring approaches.

Until bis morgen then...
